Iguazu Falls

Before Christmas Andy and Granny Foz nipped up to the famous Iguazu Falls in the north east on the border with Brazil and found what should almost certainly be one of the 7 wonders of this world...
The great Iguazu river is 4km wide at the point where 150 million years ago land dropped 80m creating a system of 275 waterfalls stretching 2km wide...
The thunderous roar and plume of smoke-like spray of Devils Throat can be heard and seen for miles around as 1500 cubic meters per second of water plunge into an abyss at the bottom of an 80m drop. From the narrow aerial walkways and viewing platforms on the Argentinian side water appears to roll gently over the edge of a 200m wide crater

but as you approach and look over the edge the full force of nature reveals itself crowned by a spectacular rainbow..
On the Brazilian side you can walk the full 2km width of the falls with many spectacular viewing platforms including a raised walkway into the middle of the action (prepare to get wet!)
I must see wonder if you get the chance the noise and power are truely haunting.
