Fuel challenges

BA traffic  not helped by todays strike

Besides measurement we have had  some issues with getting fuel and this was brought up at the Coaches meeting with little response . There are several problems with getting petrol for RIBs , how far the petrol station is from the club,  about a mile , the BA traffic and the strikes which seem to take place in our or another part of town fairly frequently and the general fuel shortage . The demand is up 10% on last year  and it is the first day of Argentina's summer hoildays so lots of people are leaving town .Being resourceful we can send Neil or Jonny with the sacktrolley which is so much quicker and less hazardous than driving that even Ricardo the ITA coach is consdiering borrowing our sack trolley Carla spotted someof the Dakar rally cars on her walk down to the boat park  and contemplated their fuel barrels enviously for a few minutes. The club have a stash of fuel but seem unable to understand the challenges for teams but still expect the coaches to take on the role of safety fleet if required to do so on the race course .. How does that work ? we had similar problems in Israel but we were able to work with the USA and had Neil Pistol and Mike Riley with cars and able to help us out. Here you need an international driving licence and nerves of steel to even think about driving . The road outside the club is like the M25 and we take our lives in our hands everytime we cross  the road.

our answer to the challenges of fuel
