new years eve

today we did one race in 18 knots with less gusts and almost no damage..but very tired sailors .. tomorrow is a lay day .

Toby and Matt had an argument with a chilean boat sand sustained a little centre board damge. The Chilean  was considering protesting after protest time if we did not mend his damage but we managed to negoiate that into providing the materials do the job courtesy of GER who had some grey gelcoat. Luckiest sailors today James and Tim who crashed into the committee boat then capsized across the line. For some reason the PRO decided that in the confusion of the finish and because it was new year he would not disqualify them  they kept their 9th. they had led race at the leeward mark and inner loop.

We have opted out of the YCA and all the mossies and a free bar and done a deal with our hotel . The canadians are joining us.

Ed our mathmatician
Ed has worked out that we are winning the team challenge best three boats in each fleet ahead of GER and ITA

Neil caught a fish today but took sympathy on it and sent back into the river .

there are accusations from some of the team that the blogs are a little economical with the truth .. Other might say excerising editorial control...

Following her trip to A&E and five neat stitches and orders not to sail Izzy has gone home and her sister Charlotte is on her way out to take her place ( thanks Selectors) Lucia a local argentinian sailor took Kat out for a spin to check her boat before Charlotte arrives

Izzy waiting for the paramedics at the YCA before they decided to send her and Carla to Hospital for stiches int he back of an ambulance
