Boats are here

Temporary hiccup in the blog as Andy and Granny Foz left for Iguzu Falls and Carla has been left to update it so has Ben fighting technology and an all day power cut in our street.. good news that after after a false start when our containers were loaded on the wrong lorry we finally got them at 4pm yesterday and have them all unloaded and boats set up. Seems no damage and we got one rib launched .Last ones were out of boat park about 8pm and coaches had dinner at about 9pm . A good 12 hour day for them.

Today land office is closed and the office is open on the water . Coaches have done fitness in the San Martin Park and sailors are organising themselves to get to the boat park for a 10.30 briefing before going sailing. There maybe a postponement if Jonny's plans A B C or D to get fuel do not work and we are down to using Neil's bike. Boat park is nice and grassy no sand anywhere and bright green tropical parakeets flying about . ARG, CHI BRA and two ITA are here but no other containers. Sarah and Georgie who have both had somekind of lurgy spent most of yesterday asleep but have recovered a bit today . Everyone else seems fine but if they are not contacting home it might be that their phones are not working or they have run out of credit..

Pete Colvin has done a great job building links with the girls Freya and Sol in the YC A office and Sophie , Kat's sister is making a film about our exploits as part of her Uni dissertation. Its rather unchristmasy ( is that a word? ) with few signs of festivities anywhere. The Argentinians are complaining about the unseasonal heat.. they do not like any more than we do . They do not have siesta here but everyone seems to be out on the streets in the evenings when it is cooler.

Its a bit strange to be at a sailing event with no access to a swimming pool or lake or the sea . There is not one at the club or in our hotel and the marina water does not look inviting at all. Last year we could fall in the sea any time from the boat park . Yesterday when Pete and I were waiting for the containers we sat in the YCA which is much like a gentlemans club all wood panelled full of yatch pictures , trophies and smelling of cigar smoke. I think our sailors will be banished down to the modern purpose built functional establishment halfway down the boat park .

I have now become a sun fascist and no one is allowed in the boat park without their shirt on and when pushed a hat either . Jonny has aquired the flattering red team spare that Neil wore last year.. While I am in the hotel writing this it will be the teams's only chance to get a tan today.

Sailor hoping not too many of the giant crusie ships will be leaving the harbour when they do . They are monsterous.
