More Measurement Problems

Following the practice race (more on this later) the boats were checked by Alex the chief measurer with sails up and most had problems. The most common was the centreboard uphaul/downhaul controls and using parts of the boat to change the direction of the control line/elastic. Also the number of blocks...see rule below...

E.2.4 Only the following fittings are permitted:
(a) One centreboard uphaul of rope and/or elastic using a maximum of three singlesheave
blocks
and two cleats without moving parts. A cleat wedge is permitted under
each cleat, and a fairlead in front of/or integral to the cleat.
(b) One centreboard downhaul of rope and/or elastic, one bush and/or one cleat
without moving parts on the centreboard case capping. A wedge is permitted under the
cleat.
E.2.5 The direction of the control ropes used for the adjustment of the centreboard shall be
modified only by means of the blocks and the bush specified in rule E.2.4.

All good frustrating fun with lots of new rope and bungee. All sorted now hopefully!
